Shelley Woodman- Executive Director
Shelley started her journey with PEERS in Victoria in 1999. She worked as the Employment Liaison with the successful Second Chance Program, and in late 2000 she decided to move to Vancouver and co-found a PEERS in Vancouver. Shelley is our guide, our strength and our friend.
Billie Sinclair - Employment Liaison - Skills Link
Billie Sinclair has been facilitating our RISE Program for over three years. She is a certified Employment Counsellor and Seminar Leader, whose greatest passions are self-development and goal achievement. Billie has lead workshops for various organizations, including Enterprising Women and the YWCA, and currently facilitates a Single Mothers Support Group. She brings a calm and caring atmosphere to our agency, and people gravitate to her office for a listening ear. In her spare time, Billie loves athletics – she is currently in training for a triathlon in Hawaii and raises funds for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
Cee Jai- Elements Facilitator
Cee Jai’ has been with peers since September 2003, she is a past graduate of the rise program. Cee Jai’ facilitates the Elements program Phase 1 and Phase 3, and is very knowledgeable in the medicine wheel. Cee Jai’ is a very kind and supportive person who also understands the many barriers we face when exiting the sex trade. Cee Jai’ has great qualities to share with all who come to peers Vancouver.
Brenda Senner- Elements Facilitator
Brenda joined us in January of 2006 and is the Facilitator of the Elements program, Phase II. She has also helped develop a number of workshops for Phases I and III. Brenda graduated from Langara College with a diploma in Arts and Sciences Family Studies and a coordinated diploma in Social Service Work. Brenda has a great deal of experience working with women and youth in the downtown eastside as she is employed at numerous shelters on a casual base.
Gail Owen - Skills Link Facilitator
Gail is a welcome addition to PEERS and started working with us in July 2006 after completing her Employment Counseling Diploma at Cornerstone Education. Gail started life as Gary and corrected her gender in 1993. Gail spent several years as a volunteer advisor to the BC Human Rights Commission on Transgender issues. Gail’s passion comes from working with people. One on one, or in a group setting, Gail brings a wealth of employment and life skills knowledge. Gail works in the Drop in Centre, and looks forward to working with all who drop in. BTW, watch for Gail in her kayak in the evening off Jericho Park.
